Vacheron Constantin - 'One of Not Many' Mentorship Program Kick Off

Vacheron Constantin, the world’s leading watchmaking Maison with a unique 265 years long heritage of technical innovation, traditional craftsmanship and sophisticated elegance has officially launched the first highly anticipated ‘One of Not Many’ Mentorship Program in the United Arab Emirates. A local initiative aiming at inspiring young Emirati women and encouraging them to pursue their dreams and attain their ultimate goals, with the personal direction of a local mentor.

The Vacheron Constantin 'One of Not Many’ Mentorship Program was officially launched on December 9th 2020, at the Ministry of Culture & Knowledge Development in Abu Dhabi. For the first time, the 6 Emirati mentors met physically with their selected 6 students from Zayed university in presence of Her Excellency Noura Bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development and President of Zayed University, and Alexander Schmiedt, Vacheron Constantin Regional Brand Director.

This launch marked the start of the 6 fruitful months to come, where mentors and mentees will be meeting to fulfil a tailored and goal-oriented plan for each student. The next steps will include each duo gathering together to define individual objectives for the program and setting an action plan to be achieved based on the student’s career aspirations. Through-out the initiative, the mentors will be advising and generously sharing their own life and career experience, personal and professional advice, and will guide the students to discover the reality of their own field through regular one-to-one sessions, allowing them to observe, explore and experiment in a professional environment.

Further to launching the program, Vacheron Constantin will continuously be supporting the work of the mentors and mentees when possible to help build their desired outcome together. This will include communicating regularly with the duos to review and evaluate the progress of each mentee and organizing monthly get-togethers, in hopes for very positive results at the end of the six-month ‘One of Not Many’ Mentorship Program.

To enrich this experience further, Vacheron Constantin will be ending this program by opening the door to 2 more unique opportunities for the mentees. The first will be a 2 weeks invitation sponsoring the 6 students to travel to the Maison’s headquarters in Geneva and discover the manufacture and explore the different departments which are behind its 265 years of international success. Following that, any of the six selected students will take part of another enriching learning experience during a 6-month internship at Vacheron Constantin’s Dubai offices or one of the other luxury Maisons of the Richemont group. This will give the students the strong base to start their career and become ‘One of Not Many’.
