THE RITZ-CARLTON, DOHA WELCOMES ACCOMPLISHED MARKETEER, MARIA VAZOURA, AS NEW DIRECTOR OF MARKETING



The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is pleased to welcome new team member, Maria Vazoura, to the role of Director of Marketing. Maria brings a wealth of experience in both the hospitality and marketing sectors to her new position.


A skilled marketeer, Maria’s knowledge of the luxury leisure industry and her strategic marketing insight will help shape The Ritz-Carlton, Doha’s future in an increasingly expanding market.


“Maria is no stranger to Marriott, after over a decade spent with one of the most historic and luxurious hotels in Europe,” commented Carlo Javakhia, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Doha. “I am confident that she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be instrumental in our future success. Maria is joining us at the right time as The Ritz-Carlton, Doha positions itself as both a culinary and leisure destination after the reopening of its private beach. Her experience in cluster marketing for European business and leisure hotels will add great value to our team.”


Having successfully achieved an MSc in Marketing Management, Maria’s initial foray into hospitality arrived when she took up a position with the iconic Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Athens.


Maria’s eleven years based in Athens saw her promoted to Marketing Manager and later Cluster Marketing Manager, expanding her portfolio to include a further two properties – the distinguished King George, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Athens and Sheraton Rhodes Resort, Rhodes.


“I am very excited to work with the team at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, it is definitely an opportunity of a lifetime that was irresistible! Working in the inspirational and ever-growing Middle East allows me to be part of an increasingly strong and significant rise in the region’s global footprint.” With the country set to see a significant upsurge in tourism as Qatar plays host to the first ever 2022 FIFA World Cup held in the Arab world, Maria’s appointment could not have come at a more interesting and opportune time.


Originally from Greece, Maria is fluent in English having studied for a time in the UK. Her move to Doha is a welcome new direction and her chance to discover even more of the world. “I have reached a time in my career path where I would like to broaden my horizons and work in a different market, alongside a new team. Working at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha allows me to diversify and share my creative vision.”
