A special collaboration for the Fall Winter 2021 collection unites Dean and Dan Caten with their teenage friend and fellow Canadian Patrick Cox. The trio have come together to create a contemporary redesign of Patrick Cox’s decade-defining Wannabe loafer. Recalling 70s disco floor styles, the Wannabe emerged in the 90s with an unconventional form that contemporary clubbers wore out to party the night away and walk home the following morning.
Restyling the Wannabe’s famed square-toe form, the Wanna-D2 comes in different designs for men and women. Fitted with a chunky heel, the women’s loafer also has a mini platform in soft nappa leather in black. The heeled moccasin is embellished with a silver chain on top of the shoe full of pendants. An ankle boot with a square heel and toe, finished with the iconic external stitching features a silver D shaped hardware on the top of the shoe and comes in lustrous shades of black and white cream.
Men’s shoe designs also follow the same signature square-toe shape for the loafer, with the chunky square heel in shiny calf leather of black; as well as a tumbled calf leather with a textured, worn-in finish in beige. A replica style in black features a thick silver hardware chain and plate on the top of the shoe. An ankle boot with the same button detail on the side of the top of the shoe is in black.
