“On The Move”: A New Vision of Mobility by Montblanc

Luxury Maison introduces a new cross-category collection that addresses different aspects of mobility, inspiring people to leave their mark by moving through life with purpose and style

Ever since its early beginnings, as the world discovered new and faster ways to move from one place to another, Montblanc has crafted products intended to be used on-the-go. In many cases, it advanced new technologies to ensure its products were functional while traveling, such as its innovative fountain pens and durable leather accessories. With its On The Move cross-category collection, Montblanc is articulating a new vision of mobility for today.

Connected to its own mission of inspiring people to leave their mark by following their own path to success, the collection is made up of products that encourage and facilitate movement, ultimately reminding people that the way they choose to move inspires the mark they make on the world.

“Montblanc has a rich heritage as an innovator, crafting products for anyone embracing the inspirational power of their new-found mobility. However, when we think of mobility, it is not only physical movement from one point to another, but the ability to move through life by achieving our goals and ambitions with greater passion and meaning. Our ambition is to give people new ways to connect with the idea of mobility, on their own terms with pieces that have functional and inspirational value to them,” says Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc Creative Director.

Featuring writing instruments, leather goods, connected technologies and timepieces, the collection reflects Montblanc’s commitment to inspire people to leave their mark by moving with purpose, accompanied by products that deliver on function and style. Incorporating advanced techniques in craftsmanship and new technology, each product addresses different aspects of mobility:

• Montblanc Extreme 3.0 leather goods are conceived for life on the move, companions for urban exploration that withstand the demands of everyday travel by pushing the boundaries of technical innovation to achieve new heights of durability and performance. In its latest evolution, Montblanc Extreme 3.0 collection features a new leather design, original formats and detailing, with a focus on minimizing environmental impact using leather obtained from a CO2 neutral tanning process and lining made from recycled fibres. The Montblanc Extreme motif has been enlarged on two different scales - a bigger treatment for bags and a smaller one for small accessories. Three bags and a belt in the collection feature an innovative M LOCK 4810 closure inspired by the climbing world with a bold black finish. Montblanc Extreme 3.0 is made up of a selection of different shapes, sizes and functions in signature Montblanc Black and an eye-catching British Green, designed to fit the lifestyles of those for whom every day is not about routine, but about adventure, whether at work or at play.

• StarWalker BlackCosmos explores the aspirational theme of mobility telling the story of humankind’s fascination with space exploration and the wonder of walking among the stars. The writing instruments feature a new surface treatment that evokes the compact and rocky surface of terrestrial planets and yet undiscovered planets in the darkness of the cosmos. A distinctive design feature of the collection, the translucent dome features a floating Montblanc emblem above a grey base. An all-black Precious Resin Edition with PVD coated metal fittings, a Doué Edition with a precious resin barrel paired with a needled metal cap, and a Metal edition featuring the needled metal effect throughout. Each edition is available as a Fountain Pen, Fineliner and Ballpoint.

• The Montblanc Summit 3 Smartwatch addresses the needs for more connectivity through technology for those constantly on the move. It is the latest iteration of the Maison’s signature smartwatch, an expression of elevated luxury with a case crafted in precious hand-brushed titanium, configurable watch faces rich in details paired with calf leather and rubber straps. The Summit 3 smartwatch incorporates the latest Wear OS by Google and curated apps to meet the functional needs of its owner. The lineup includes three versions of the smartwatch - Titanium Grey paired with black calf and blue rubber straps, Titanium Black paired with black calf and black rubber straps, as well as Titanium Bicolor paired with a Montblanc Extreme 3.0 British green calf leather strap and black rubber straps – and the personalization options are extensive.

• Montblanc 1858 GMT Automatic Date is about living life through time zones, with a watch function that shows the time in two different places at the same time without hands. The ingenious system indicates the second time zone with a red square that moves around the outside of the dial, positioned next to a fixed black or blue anodized aluminium bezel that shows the 24-hour clock so the user immediately knows if it is day or night in the second time zone too. It comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case with a choice of a black or blue sunray dial, both of which are adorned with blue luminescent hands and indexes, accompanied by a tapered, interchangeable, stainless-steel bracelet with a fine adjustment system for precision fitting, which can be switched out for a black or blue rubber strap in seconds. The titanium engraved case back shows the planet’s continents and oceans, along with the names of cities in each of the 24 time zones, offering a worldtime indication.
