Msheireb Properties Wins Two Prestigious Arabian Property Awards

MP bags two awards for Best Sustainable Residential Development and Best Architecture Multiple Residences, nominated Best in Arabia at The Arabian Property Awards

Msheireb Properties, Qatar’s national real estate developer and a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, was awarded two prestigious awards in the areas of development and architecture at The Arabian Property Awards 2019-2020.

The two awards were granted in two categories: Best Sustainable Residential Development for Wadi 1 building and Best Architecture Multiple Residence for Townhomes and Apartments. The awards recognize development and architecture located in Msheireb Properties’ landmark development, Msheireb Downtown Doha, the smartest and most sustainable fully built city district in the world, and Qatar’s newest destination for leisure, living and business.

Additionally, Msheireb Properties’ Residential Architecture win was nominated “Best in Arabia” during The Arabian Property Awards 2019-2020 gala dinner.

The Arabian Property Awards identify the highest levels of achievement in real estate, development, architecture, interior design and marketing in both the residential and commercial sectors, focusing on services, sustainability, high living standards, ergonomics, originality and creativity.

The awards ceremony was held recently at The Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London. Accepting the awards on behalf of Msheireb Properties was Mr Atif Manzoor, CFO of Msheireb Properties, in addition to Simon Gathercole and Daniel Elsea, Partner and Director at Allies and Morrison, the London-based architectural firm which designed the Townhomes at Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The recently launched Wadi 1 is a 72 luxury residences building located in the heart Msheireb Downtown Doha. Wadi 1 has achieved 58 LEED points (60 for LEED Gold) during the Design Preliminary Review. The overall potable water savings for the building is 41.9%, and Water recovery from air conditioning condensate of 2,600 cubic meters, reducing the required non-potable water from the development’s treatment plant and municipality.

The MDD Townhomes and Apartments are built and arranged in clusters or traditional Qatari neighbourhoods known as ‘Freejs’ around elegantly composed communal gardens. There are three clusters and each has its own distinct quality and is articulated to reflect the architectural aspects that are incarnated in the entire MDD architectural language. Each cluster consists of five to seven units surrounding a central courtyard, and many houses include individual courtyards.

Commenting on the awards, Mr Ali Al-Kuwari, Acting CEO of Msheireb Properties, said: “We are honoured to accept these two prestigious awards. This is yet another international recognition of what we have achieved so far in terms of sustainable development and unique architecture. The timing also coincides with the launch of our first residential building, Wadi 1.”

The judging panel of The Arabian Property Awards was composed of international experts, including architects, developers, and interior designers.
