MAX MARA COLLABORATES WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF LISBON

On the occasion of the Resort 2023 fashion show set to be held in Lisbon on June 28th 2022, Max Mara will be collaborating with the Fashion Design course of the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon University. On June 24th, the students enrolled on this degree course will have the opportunity to take part in a conference at the University held by the brand’s creative director Ian Griffiths, who brings his experience to a new generation of creatives.

In this context, Max Mara has also decided to launch a contest aimed at the students on the Fashion Design course, who will be asked to develop an all-round project and a creative idea for a Resort collection. The students will have to identify a narrative inspired by an artistic or musical movement, a location or a contemporary social cultural phenomenon, and come up with a capsule collection of 8 looks. Along with their proposal, they will be asked to present a moodboard, an idea of fabrics, music and location for the fashion show and events linked to their collection.

Max Mara will reward the winner with a six-month contract at the brand’s headquarters in Reggio Emilia, thus offering them the opportunity to work directly with the creative director Ian Griffiths and the Max Mara style office on the design and creation of a collection.

The Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon University, which each year welcomes around 2600 students from all over the world, was the first in Portugal to establish a degree course in Fashion Design, in 1992.
