This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre will be bringing the art of haute horology from the heart of the Vallée de Joux to the halls of Doha Fair in Qatar. Scheduled to occur from May 9th – May 13th, the Maison is pleased to participate in the 19th annual edition of Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition showcasing some of the Maison’s standout timepieces.
This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre has selected some iconic pieces to showcase at the exhibition, particularly the Reverso. Created over ninety years ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso is a singular example of Art Deco design; a daring embodiment of modernity and an uncompromising piece of art that has evolved over time with shifting tastes and technology. From the start, the Reverso was radically innovative in both its fundamental concept and the engineering of the intricate mechanism that enabled the case to be turned over and locked into place. Made originally to withstand the rigors of polo matches, the swiveling mechanism was created to protect the fragile front glass of the timepiece. Now more than nine decades later with several technical innovations, the back of the Reverso has evolved from being a protective cover to the finest available blank canvas, upon which the owner and artisan alike may demonstrate their appreciation and patronage of high craft - a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s inventive watchmaking. The Reverso’s enduring success over time is not only attributed to the the mechanical complexity of the watchmaking but to the values that lie in the ingenious conception and perfect execution.
“Jaeger-LeCoultre is proud to be part of the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition for another year and we’re always excited to showcase unique and exclusive pieces that highlight the Maison’s bespoke craftmanship and exceptional expertise. We look forward to welcoming the watch collectors and aficionados to our booth to experience over 188 years of luxury watchmaking expertise, inventiveness and craftsmanship that define Jaeger-LeCoultre.” says Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Middle East, India and South Africa Brand Director Nader Iskander.
