IWC Schaffhausen launches a new version of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 in bronze with a blue dial and gold-plated hands. Bronze, renowned for its ability to develop a patina over time, makes every timepiece unique. The IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre powers the chronograph.
The chronograph is a mainstay in IWC’s Pilot’s Watches collection. The mechanical stopwatch adds to the typical tool watch design and offers limitless applications in everyday life. A year ago, IWC presented the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 in an easy-to-wear diameter of 41 millimetres. Now, a new version has been added to the collection.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388109) features a case, pushers and a crown made of bronze, a blue dial with subdued white printing, and gold-plated hands. Alongside copper, the bronze used by IWC also contains aluminium and iron. This specific composition makes the alloy around 50 per cent harder than standard bronze. The material’s exceptional biocompatibility is an important additional characteristic. Bronze also develops a unique patina over time, giving each timepiece a distinct character and look of its own.
The chronograph is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre. The movement enables stop time measurements of up to 12 hours and is engineered to guarantee robustness, reliability, and precision. The chronograph function is controlled by a column wheel, which is a complex component with two functional levels. A bi-directional pawl winding system builds up a power reserve of up to 46 hours in the mainspring.
The timepiece, fitted on a blue textile strap, also features IWC’s new EasX-CHANGE®. It enables the wearer to change the strap at the touch of a button and without any additional tools. A selection of calfskin and rubber straps in attractive colours are available in IWC boutiques or online on IWC.com.
In addition, the reworked case construction ensures that the chronograph is water- resistant up to 10 bar. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 will be available as of April 2022 through IWC boutiques, authorised retail partners or online at IWC.com. The timepiece is eligible for registration under the My IWC care program, benefiting from a 6-year extension to the standard 2-year International Limited Warranty.
