The first of its name, queen of the road-going supercars with a monster V6 engine, protector of hybrid cars, and descendant of the legendary Dino: all hail Ferrari 296 GTB! Ferrari's first RWD hybrid car ditches its usual screaming V8s and titanic V12s for the sake of a hybridized V6 engine, signaling a start of a new era for the Maranello-based marque.
Such a beautifully designed, mid-engined lifestyle GT Berlinetta deserves an equally stylish and classy destination like the world-class Hakkasan Doha restaurant. The contemporary Chinese restaurant—with its sleekly modern décor inspired by the lacquered tea houses of old Canton, along with its captivating sounds, scents, and lighting—is definitely a perfect match for the most rounded Ferrari of all time: the 296 GTB!
We took the latest addition from Maranello out for an editorial photoshoot at the entrance to the Hakkasan Doha in the gardens of the St Regis Hotel. Sitting behind the wheel of the all-new Ferrari GT was a mind-blowing experience for the Qatari car enthusiast Tariq Almusa, a blogger and car collector. The 296 GTB’s amazing looks and blistering performance mesmerized him.
Just as the award-winning Hakkasan Doha offers an ultimate luxury dining experience, the lusciously shaped and technologically advanced supercar is a feast for the eyes and a blast to drive, delivering a visceral driving experience only found in a Ferrari!
Borrowing some design traits from the SF90 Stradale and Ferrari’s classic mid-engine 250 LM racer from the 1960s, the 296 GTB has a distinctive front bumper with large intakes, slim LED headlights, an active rear spoiler, and a large central exhaust outlet for a menacing look.
Inside, the well-crafted cabin features the retro-style gear selector found in the larger SF90 sibling, a long horizontal dashboard, a fully digital instrument cluster, capacitive buttons all around, a standard passenger-side display, and impeccably stitched leather, to name but a few.
Not only is the new Ferrari 296 GTB a modern, and amazing-looking supercar that takes inspiration from previous models, but it is also one of the most powerful electric hybrids ever made. The all-new Ferrari GT debuts with a twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V6 engine that delivers 663 hp, while a single electric motor adds 167 hp to the internal combustion engine, raising the total output of the hybrid drivetrain to 830 hp and 740 Nm of torque at 6250 rpm. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is powerful enough to push the 296 GTB from zero to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and to 200 km/h in 7.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 330 km/h.
Aiming to satisfy all our senses, the first Ferrari-badged car with a V-6 engine offers mind-blowing dynamics coupled with a modern style both inside and out, delivering one of the most gratifying driving experiences ever. The finest Ferrari sports car in years is sure to dazzle diners at Hakkasan Doha restaurant.
