CUISINE FOR THE MIND, BODY, AND SOUL AT ZULAL WELLNESS RESORT




Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, Qatar’s largest wellness destination, and the Middle East’s first full-immersion wellness resort offering a new interpretation of Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine (TAIM), is reinforcing its philosophy of holistic wellness with the introduction of wholesome cuisine for the mind, body and soul.


Underpinned by the knowledge that nutrition is an integral pillar of wellbeing, and diet is inextricably linked to long-term health, the resort will take guests on a gastronomic journey, using food to allure the senses and enhance the body’s incredible natural healing process.





Commenting on the resort’s offering, Executive Chef at Zulal Wellness Resort, Michael Davies said: “At Zulal Wellness Resort, we are looking to intrigue and excite guests by transporting them on a journey of culinary well-being. Through flavourful simplicity and the development of healthy eating habits, we can help facilitate lasting lifestyle changes that lead to a lifetime of wellbeing.”


The dining experience will vary across the resort’s six dining outlets, bolstered with healthy cooking methods such as the use of raw elements and the exclusion of refined sugars. From a beachside dining experience that will introduce a fresh take on ocean-inspired cuisine, to a macro gastronomy experience led by Chef Oscar Fernandez, Zulal Wellness Resort promises to capture guests’ hearts and win over their palettes. The resort will also be home to a Lebanese-inspired restaurant, a dedicated spa café, a tea house as well as a formal dining experience.





With the introduction of a demo kitchen, Chef Michael will lead guests through a range of culinary specialities, including fermentation, dehydration, and no-bake desserts. The demo kitchen will also offer one-on-one lunch and learn experiences. Chef Michael added: “Building a community through knowledge sharing is at the heart of Zulal Wellness Resort’s culinary offering. With our demo kitchen, we will teach guests how to incorporate wellness cuisine into their daily routines, while highlighting the ease in which they can incorporate easy techniques into their everyday lives.”


Zulal will introduce guests to the world of medicinal benefits, using herbs, seasonings, and spices like cinnamon and za’atar, which offer significant health benefits, and turmeric/ kurkum known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Guests will also enjoy signature no-bake dishes, making use of local dates and apricots as alternative sweeteners. Through the use of locally sourced organic ingredients, and a focus on their medicinal benefits, guests can expect a unique health and wellness touch with a broad variety of balanced dishes and beverages inspired by the natural world.
