1309 LAUNCHES ‘COSMIC COWBOY’, A GENDERLESS COLLECTION FOR AW21

Inviting you to take a trip to outer space, the AW21 Cosmic Cowboy collection from Qatari brand 1309 is inspired by a desire to explore the unknowns of the universe,

Ghada Al Subaey, founder and Creative Director of 1309, says of the collection “These pieces are inspired by the ideal person you’d want to go on an adventure with, because the way they exists makes you feel like you can do anything - even if that thing is to ride into space with them by your side. They are a cowboy - a space cowboy!”

The brand’s first foray into ‘genderless’ fashion pieces, the Cosmic Cowboy collection includes pieces that can be easily styled into both men’s and women’s looks, as captured in the fashion film created to celebrate the launch of the AW21 season. In a palette inspired by a retro take on space exploration, the range includes eye-catching swirl and UFO prints, adorning denim, satin and mesh fabrics.

Alongside the ready-to-wear pieces sit matching printed swimwear, headbands, bucket hats and scarves, allowing for a full head-to-toe printed look. Ghada Al Subaey describes the collection as ‘Dopamine Dressing’, referring to the bright and optimistic colour palette and playful styles, designed to create an emotionally uplifting and mood-boosting effect!

1309 is grounded in a ‘contemporary bohemian’ aesthetic, established by Founder and Creative Director, Ghada Al Subaey. Al Subaey’s goal for this artfully curated collection was to create unique pieces of colors and shapes for the season that help stay cool and dapper on balmy days.

Drawing inspiration from art, nature, and global culture, 1309 combines designs that embody fluidity and elegance with a contemporary edge; a refined statement that celebrates themulti-faceted and versatile nature of women. 1309 is well known for a signature aesthetic, which is often lauded for seasonal signature prints.
